Ended up traveling with this guy and his buddy, who were
touring around SE asia after spending about a year in Australia. The van we took was pretty comfy and came with a rabbit. You can't see him but he is in the cage.
It was about a 4.5 hour trip until we made our first major stop, about 15 minutes from the Thailand/Cambodia border. A stop which usually means buying some food /drink at the restaurant, which is likely owned by a friend or relative.
After an hour or so, we were taken to the border where we got to stand in a line for awhile, then stand in another line and then another line. Not sure what was that different about the second 2 lines.
Another few hours and another stop, I got to Siem Reap. Got talked into going to a cheaper hotel that I planned to but now wish I h
adn't. It is a tad out of the main area, which I am sitting in right now. 7$ a night isn't bad. The use of american dollars bugs me. I got Cambodian Riel for the soul reason I don't want to be using US$, and besides, I am in Cambodia...
